The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) intends to investigate Nvidia's recent $40 million acquisition of chip maker ARM. 

Nvidia purchased the semiconductor and software design company in September last year for $21.5 billion in common stock and $12 billion in cash, but now the deal is being scrutinised by UK authorities over the effect it could have on competition in the UK. 

"The CMA is likely to consider whether, following the takeover, Arm has an incentive to withdraw, raise prices or reduce the quality of its IP licensing services to NVIDIA’s rivals," said CMA chief executive Andrea Coscelli.

Director of external development Bob Loya says the revival — which will see Activision partnering with small teams to make mostly digital games — was a passion project from insiders. For the past 15 years, League of Legends’ seasons have been just a part of the game’s ranked competitive play, with little impact on lore or events. From 2025, Riot will introduce a new seasonal model that’s closer to other live-service games, with each year split up into three seasons that will tell a story based on one of the game’s regions. The first, arriving in January, will be titled Welcome to Noxus.

Season 2 arrives in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone on January 28. Activision has revealed the season’s new gameplay trailer, which features new multiplayer maps, more DLC weapons, and operator skins.
